Lee added to all-star team

Washington pitcher Gary Lee was one of three players added to the East Division all-star team today. The right-handed starter will be the lone representative from the Wild Things in the game Wednesday at The Corn Crib in Normal, Ill.

Lee (3-3) is fourth in the Frontier League in ERA at 2.27 and has allowed only 29 hits in 39.2 innings. Lee likely pitched his way onto the all-star team Tuesday night when he took a no-hitter into the eighth inning against Rockford, the league's top hitting team.

Congrats to Gary. He pitched a great game.
I am very disappointed that Michael Bando was not named to represent the Wild Cubs.
Would that have been symbolic of this season, or what?

Does he have to pay his own way to the all star game?
Hopefully he will be picked up by an affiliate and Washington will get what they deserve based on their performance.

No Wild Cub truly earned their way onto the All-Star team. Not a put down for Gary, just the truth.
Micheal (no buttons) Bando an all star?
That's a real joke.

Congratulations to Gary Lee! Not only is he well deserving based on his performance on the field, but he is a genuinely great person off the field. He is a mentor to the younger players & pitchers. When Gary is not on the mound, you see him back and forth from the dugout to the bullpen, talking to players, giving advise. He is definitely the type of guy you want in your clubhouse! I wish him continued success and pray he gets the recognition he deserves in affiliated ball.

lee earned his way, just wasn't voted onto the team. lee's numbers (his performance) make him deserving (earning his way). the ridiculous scheduling system and selection system this league uses means 'all-star' balloting is a joke. gary lee is a deserving all-star selection.

bando, jr's comments in story about wednesday's game out of line, albeit accurate. here's a guy hitting barely more than he weighs and he's gonna lay blame for a loss on defense, really? kid, you've been defended / supported in this blog. you should realize, though, that you're on this team, in this league, because your daddy is the wimpy things manager. you should play the game, shut your mouth, and let other who are hitting talk about the defense lapses.
