Consol Energy Park II?

West Virginia University has released artist renderings of a proposed ballpark in Morgantown that would house the Mountaineers' baseball program and possibly a professional team.

The renderings have been prepared by Kevin Turkall of Designstream LLC in Pittsburgh. It shows a park with only a few suites and and apparently no outfield berm, but there is a grass area down the left-field line (sound familiar?). My guess is there is no more than 3,500 seats.

What struck me almost immeditaely is how much this park looks like Consol Energy Park, right down to the five rows of setas in the lower bowl.

One mistake just like CEP is the rest rooms and concession stands are behind the field and not on the same side of the playing area like most of the newly created ball parks in the Frontier League.

I was at the game tonight and got a bargain because it was Canton Twp. night. Our tickets and meal before the game was only $10/person (partly paid by the twp.).
So my wife and I spend $25 including parking for a meal and all drinks which we were able to carry over to the stands.
What a wild game. A Wild Cub player is out for using a questionable bat. I will check out the O-R tomorrow to find the full story Chris. I hope you dig out the info. Also the first time I can remember a pitcher (Florence) changing a belt on the mound in the middle of an inning.
Chris, you ran an article on this blog about 2 Wild Things managers never being swept. I wonder if Chris Bando has the Washington record for number of times being swept?
I was Disa Pointed that I did not see Ima Fraid at the game.
Before the National anthem, the Florence team lined up very respectful in front of their dugout while the Wild Cubs came out looking unorganized.
Young Cub Bando needs a button sewed on his shirt. It looks disgusting.
The official attendence tonight was 2052. I would guess more like 1600 in attendence. Shocking on a Friday fireworks night.
Go Wild Cubs!

Natural Grass, said “I was Disa Pointed that I did not see Ima Fraid at the game”.
Well, sometimes one has to ask himself if the effort to even go to CEP is worth it.
Even though we are full season ticket holders, complete with pre-paid parking, we have made the decision to attend fewer games. As I have mentioned before, the constant movement of players gives, at least to
me, a feeling of detachment from the team. Also, I feel, as many other season ticket holders, that we were seriously mislead during the winter meetings. NEVER was it even hinted that there would be a major escalation of concession prices.
Now, the big concern with season ticket holders is; What happens when our contracts expire in 2013?
Will we be ripped off with another big hike in parking prices? How much will the seat prices be increased, etc? Mr. Williams has hinted that he will probably not offer any further package deals. Obviously, we can not trust anything the management may say.
Lots of questions – no answers!
As for last nights game and the roster moves; what was new about any part of it?

Guess what?
I ran into an usher who has ushered since day one with the Wild Things and was fired.
He called in to see what his schedule was for the 6 game homestand and the call was not returned, so he called again and Steve Z. told him he was not on the schedule and they were going in another direction.
I guess not only the players are victums of roster moves, but also the employees.
Another employee of many years also told me were were firing employees right and left this year.
I wonder if Stu fired Franny?
If so, he probably got shut out in more ways than one!
