Mirowski exits
The Wild Things made another roster move prior to tonight's series finale against Lake Erie. Pitcher Richie Mirowski, who started the 9-4 loss to the Crushers Wednesday night, was placed on the suspended list. Signed to fill the roster spot was Kolin Stanley, a rookie who played this spring for Marshall University.
Mirowski has an 0-3 record and 4.76 ERA in 19 games (2 starts). He has struck out 42 batters in 28 1/3 innings. Mirowski had reached the Class AA level in the Washington Nationals' system before being released.
Stanley led Marshall with a 2.65 ERA in 28 games (all in relief) this spring. He is the 38th player that Wild Things have had on their active roster this year.

Just another senseless and unmeaningful roster move.
How can the fans be loyal to a team that you can't go
more than a few days without yet another roster move.
They ought to make a few moves that would really
makes a difference. How about a new owner, general manager,
coaching staff, and field manager? All these roster moves
the brain trust have made this season have had the net effect
of absolutely - nothing. You know what they say about doing the
same thing, over and over, and expecting a different result.
It's the definition of insanity. I rest my case.
The Wild Things play another game tonight that is lost after 2 innings (7-0) because of 5 walks in the 2nd. This team seems destined to finish in last place. I can't see it doing anything else. The Rebellion is well on its way to finishing in last place (again). Does that make Stu the only owner in sports with two teams and they both finished in last place? If so, that makes him the worst owner in sports. The Biggest Loser. Are we surprised? Lets face it Stu as an owner has been a failure of epic proportions. Please Stu, do the right thing and sell the team!
Stu needs to realize that the way the Wild Things are doing business both on the field and off it is not working. It's not even close to working. On the field, the only person since Ross Vecchio left who knew how to put together a winning team was Bart Zeller and he got punked by his pitching coach. And Stu let Zeller walk and kept the pitching coach. Yet another sign of the owner being The Biggest Loser.
It's time to blow up the whole operation. Major changes need to be made at season's end because the way the Wild Things are doing things are not working. If you do the same things year after year and expect different results is insanity. But yet the Wild Things have the same people calling the shots, doing the same things year after year and get the same results. A major housecleaning in the front office and on the field is a must. The people there do not have a clue how to turn this operation around. Some person wrote on this blog wrote about Stu being given a golden egg and he ruined it. I guess that meant the attendance or the lack of it. Yes, Stu has turned people away, pissed off his fans, made the games painfully boring, taken the fun out of the games and made the place a ghosttown unless its a fireworks night. Throw in years of bad baseball and this has turned into a sh*#show.
The only way for this operation to be turned around is for Stu to sell the team and a bunch of pink slips given out at the end of the season. Start over in 2016. A new owner, new front office, new manager, new coach and new players. Make sure that there is nothing that reminds of us of 2015, the Brawl for it All in the dugout in 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011 and so on.
As for the Rebellion ...... it women's softball. Who cares?
I like Stu. He makes me feel smart.
I just realized that the Wild Things must play above .500 for the remainder of the season to finish with a better record than the 2012 team, which was dubbed "The Bando Bunch" by readers of this blog.
The Wild Things are 25-33. The Bando Bunch was 44-52. Washington needs to go 20-18 to finish 45-51.
After reading the comments on this thread, I wonder why the Wild Things get so pissed off about the things I post here. In general, the comments above are just reflections of some of my comments that have been reworded. The only thing left off is their name, which I find to be a bit cowardly. If you are going to publicly criticize someone than at least have the courtesy to identify yourself.
One of the Wild Things employees often, when responding to remarks he reads here, makes references about "old" people being miserable. He seems to forget these "old" people are providing him with a paycheck. Just how he reaches the conclusion that the poster is an "old" person, is unknown to me. I get the feeling that his remarks are directed toward me even though I ALWAYS identify myself when I post something.
Well sure, I AM outspoken about the lack of performance of the Wild Things. Being a season ticket holder since 2002 gives me the right to criticize. The reason they don't like it is; because I speak the truth and they know it! Hell, I'm not the ONLY person unhappy with the direction this team has taken but, most people won't say cr*p if they have a mouthful of it. In case nobody has noticed, the season ticket holders numbers have plummeted the last several years. Now, that doesn't happen because these people happy with things, does it?
I have sat through hours of "Season Ticket Holders Meetings" and listened to Stu Williams make the most unrealistic predictions about everything one could think of regarding the Wild Things future - not one thing that I can think of has come even close to fruition. Of course the PC season ticket holders, most of them being not much more than lemmings, just bobbed their heads up and down in agreement with all the BS. Now, most all of the lemmings are no longer season ticket holders, at all...
I was happy to see the above post. It shows that there is concern from other fans about the Wild Things lack of leadership. While not very many people voice there opinion, it's a fact that for every written complaint, about any subject, there is about 10 to 15 people with the same thought. I know a lot of fans at CEP and I know that many of them are unhappy with what has happened since Stu Williams bought the team. The ushers, some at least, are getting surly and, in general CEP is NOT as nice of a place to go as it was not too many years ago.
Finally, Anon: 7/24/2015 at 6:26PM said in par " Bart Zeller got plunked by his pitching coach. And Stu let Zeller walk and kept the pitching coach. Yet another sign of the owner being The Biggest Loser." This person is EXACTLY spot on. In almost 75 years of being an avid baseball fan, I've NEVER heard of this sort of sophomoric behavior by a team owner. Of course, we already know that Stu does NOT give a "Tinker's Damn" about baseball etiquette, or traditions. What a crying shame!

Anonymous 6:26 posted one of the best comments ever written on this blog, perhaps THE best. Just doing a little catching up today on the blog....a recent post by Chris ranked the FL organizations. It's been so long that I had forgotten "The Bando Bunch". For that travesty ALONE, the Wild Things should rank dead last. That year was so bad, I ended up writing a parody song about it...LOL. Releasing just about every starter from opening day throughout the season, except the manager's kid, who hit around .190, you'd have to think that was the low point of franchise history. But hey, these guys can top it! Bringing in Pete Rose and having 41 people desperate enough to pay $100 to sign Wild Things merchandise, there's a laughable moment, top THAT! Ah, but wait, the manager, who guided the team to one of the best records in the league to that point, gets roughed up by another coach in the dugout, there's your winner. If I didn't know any better, I'd say this is being filmed for a reality show, to air somewhere in the future. I still believe nothing will be done to turn it around, because the owner knows when he's moving the team, and declining attendence will be the excuse given, so why spend any money to fix any problems?
I saw 1 game last season, and 1 so far this season. It was a beautiful Saturday night, and the place was half empty. Total crickets. There's still room for both the Pirates and Wild Things in western PA to both be successful. But it will never happen with the Wild Things current administration.
I was wondering if you still had enough interest to post any observations about this abysmal Wild Things season. Happy to read your thoughts. Anybody with even the SLIGHTEST knowledge about baseball and cares about, or had any respect for it,
knows that Stu Williams shameful handling of the Zeller-Grabowski incident violated ALL the tenets ever utilized to handle such incidents. A pitching coach, or anybody else on the team, EVER is allowed to get into a physical altercation with their manager, much less be treated as a hero by the team owner. What a freakin' farce that was. Truthfully, if Williams had even an ounce of manhood, he would have dismissed Grabowski in a nanosecond. Well, we've come not to expect anything as ethical as that to happen haven't we?. As to the Pete Rose debacle; Well, it was just a case of one unprincipled jerk accommodating another for the sake of making a buck. Of course, the idiot fans that took the bait were willing participants in the legal, but nevertheless shameful, pilfering of their wallets. There's a fool born every second and apparently 41 of them were at CEP that night.

Not only did Stu Williams show a disturbing lack leadership in that situation but also showed that he had no regard for the fact that a much younger man physically assaulted an elderly man almost twice his age. What sort of 'Boss' would allow that to happen in his place of business? The Wild Things seem to have a total lack of respect for "old" people that runs through almost the entire organization. Stu Williams illustrated that very clearly in the Zeller-Grabowski incident. What a joke!

Ima, I can't believe I agree with you again but, it's not just older folks, Stu has does not have any respect for anyone...period. He is just not a nice person, at all!
All he cares about is the all mighty dollar and charging $5 for parking. His ego will never let him sell the team. Like a local Washington businessmen said about the WTs, the fish stinks form the head down.
