Windy City staying in FL

According Ballparkdigest.com, the Windy City ThunderBolts have decided to remain in the Frontier League instead of joining the Rockford RiverHawks in a switch to the Northern League.

The Ballparkdigest.com article:

Thunderbolts: "No intention" of leaving Frontier League

Windy City ThunderBolts owner Mike Stranczek says he has no intention of leaving the Frontier League, thwarting the Northern League's efforts to concentrate in the Chicago area.

As you'll recall, we reported last week he had been approached by reps of the Northern League to shift leagues in the same manner Rockford did. And, as you'll recall, we also wrote there wasn't a lot of interest on Stranczek's side. An official response from GM Steve Tahsler: "the Windy City ThunderBolts have no intention of leaving the Frontier League" – confirms it.

We do hear, however, that a master plan for six Chicago-area teams in the Northern League remains in place. It does make economic sense – it's a whole lot cheaper for a Marion or a Normal to send a squad to Joliet than to Washington, Pa.

Thanks to RiverHawks broadcaster Bill Czaja for passing this note to us.

Denial is a sure sign that they ARE leaving. Wish they would take the WT with them!

ATTENTION Wild Things management. How nice it was of you numb skulls to let that motorcycle mob physically (both with their bodies AND their bikes) block off half of the handicapped parking area Friday.
There was not ONE person from your organization with the grit to tell them to move on to another area. None of the beer drinking bullies looked handicapped to me, except perhaps mentally! They fit right in with the Wild Things management in that regard. Those unwashed bastards even had the nerve to direct people with handicapped placards away from where they should legally had been able to park.
As a result, many handicapped had to make a painful walk from the far reaches of the parking area. You know, the places where the friggin motorcyclists should have been.
We are all very aware of the Wild Things policy about anything controversial. It either didn’t happen at all, OR “We don’t know anything about it”, OR blah, blah, blah! The Wild Things policy of never knowing how to handle anything correctly is becoming legendary.
This is just another example of your inability to handle even the most simple of matters. You have had the parking lot situation screwed up since the first exhibition game, in particular the handicapped parking, and have not been able to sort it out even this late in the season. I’ll make a bet you are already working on how many things you can screw up next year.
DOESN”T ANYBODY IN THE WILD THINGS MANAGEMENT HAVE A CLUE ABOUT ANYTHING? Perhaps you can ask the taxpayers to fund a new parking lot for you. Hopefully it will come with at least one person that just might be able to figure out how to manage it! I doubt it. You don’t seem to mind asking for a new playing surface for yourselves, so how about something that might benefit the fans just wanting to do something as basic as PARKING WITHOUT A HASSLE! Geez, what’s the matter with you people?

And I'll make a bet that you will still come back next year, even with the taxpayer turf, just so you can have a forum to complain. I absolutely agree that handicapped people should get the closest parking spaces, but the best way to voice your protest is ECONOMIC BOYCOTT, not posting it on a blog that doesn't exactly resemble a MENSA think-tank.

Another 'freedom of speech' hater!
We can protest anywhere it's legal to do so and it doesn't have to have your, or any others approval!
Are you another W&J graduate or just another Obama Koo-Aid drinker?
Being a cash paying customer give me the right to complain about anything I don't like about the Wild Things management. I should not watch the games because I don't like the managements actions? You must have a paper head.
You MENSA types are so full of yourselves.

Show up earlier if you want a close spot and quit whining. There are way more spots than they have to have by law. We are lucky that they rope off even a few extra spots or we would have to park midway around the stadium! I must be the only person who actually thinks they got parking right this year!

Even if they did take the WT with them; the Wild Things would still be in Washington moron!

At least there's one person here who makes some sense. If you don't like having to park further away than you'd like to, show up earlier. They already block off 1/3 of the parking lot for handicapped parking. Most nights that lot is over 80% empty too. So you had to walk extra one night out of 50 home games, oh no! light the torches and grab your pitchforks!

I'd say that most of the remarks made about the handicapped parking are written by people that don't "have a dog in the fight"!
Many, many people have been upset over the stupid moves made by the Wild Things regarding handicapped parking this year. My parents are both in their early eighties, handicapped, and not well enough to tolorate the heat of the late afternoon. Getting to CEP at 5:30 in the afternoon is really not an option for them. I suppose some of you smart asses would suggest they just stay home and listen on the radio to some squeaky voiced amateur broadcaster tell them how he would wish the game was. I suppose you same smat asses are in favor of Obama's death panels, too!
I hope you all live to be old and sick some day too so that some wise guy will tell you to "get there earlier" when you find it difficult to get there at all!
Just keep on demeaning old people like their lives have no meaning. Someday it will happen to you. You are the ones that will be complaing then and crying like little babies.
When you don't have compassion for your elders, the same fate awaits you later on in life.

Did anyone else hear the taxpayer turf twins talking on the radio the first couple of innings tonight?
Shorly after he finished with Soloby, Bob Gregg's voice was not heard on the radio the wrest of the night.

Any truth to the rumor that on Opening Night 2010, 2 members of the Old Man Army will participate in the "Dance With The Wild Thing" contest on top of the first base dugout? The song that they will dance to? The Beatles "Taxman", of course! Enjoy the new turf!

solobay was on for one inning. they talked about the turf for 40 seconds. they talked much longer about the state budget, and school funding and consolidation. and bob left after the fifth inning to attend to a family matter.

Bob left after the 5th inning last night because he had an appointment with a taxpayer turf salesperson.
Tim joined Bob because the salesperson brought orange cookies as a reward for ramming taxpayer turf down the taxpayers throats.

Bob Gregg, Tim (Rat) Solobay, and Randy all kissing each other’s rear ends on the radio last night – how disgusting can things get? It was like some sort on orgy with the turf idiots. Man, it is hard to believe there are so many bumpkins around here that elect scoundrels as Tim Solobay into office. He is nothing but a thief without a gun and he of course has connections with the Wild Things ownership group, not to mention Mylan Labs in the great city of Canonsburg. Don’t suppose there is any conflict of interest there do you? Of course not – right. This is the same Tim Solobay that voted himself a pay raise in the middle of the night, on a holiday week-end when he thought we would not be watching what he was doing.
Are really ‘up-front’ sort of guy, right?
So he, and Bob Gregg are two of the biggest culprits in the taxpayer turf we will be seeing next year. Of course Mr. Greg has no problem with “conflict of interest” as we have already seen his lack of integrity haven’t we?
