Big night for Ijames

Stewart Ijames with former Wild Things manager Bart Zeller in Arizona. Ijames is now playing for the Missoula Osprey of the short-season Pioneer League.

Wondering what happened to right fielder Stewart Ijames, who had his contract purchased by the Arizona Diamondbacks organization earlier this month?

Ijames played five games for the D-backs' affiliate in the Arizona Rookie League, then was assigned to the Missoula Osprey in the short-season Pioneer League. Last night, Ijames made his second appearance for the Osprey and went 2-for-5 with two home runs and four RBI in a 10-9 Missoula win. Both of Ijames' homers came in the game's first five innings.

It also was a good hitting night for another former Wild Things player, outfielder Robbie Garvey, who is playing for the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, the Los Angeles Dodgers' affiliate in the Class A California League. Garvery, who played for Washington in 2012, went 2-for-4 with a home run against Lake Elsinore. For the season, he is batting .241 with eight triples, seven home runs, 42 RBI and 18 stolen bases for the Quakes.

It's great to hear about former Wild Things doing well in affiliate ball.

What is that clown, Kevin Gryboski still doing in a baseball uniform? Oh yeah, being a role model for young gentlemen. What's Williams doing still being an owner? What's Z doing still being, ha ha ha, a GM?

Great to see a REAL baseball man, who is also a molder of talanted players have his photo on this blog. Zeller was screwed, plain and simple.
"What is that clown, Kevin Gryboski still doing in a baseball uniform?"
First, referring to this man as a "clown" is grossly unfair to the clowns. I hope some of them sue you. LOL!
"Role model"? Apparently somebody in the Wild Things organization thinks so. I must admit I can't understand that sort of convoluted thinking. Retaining a person that doesn't know right from wrong doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Validating this persons actions against a man almost twice his age by even allowing him to stay on for one more day is unforgivable.
But what do I know. I'm older then Zeller and everybody knows old people are dumb, stupid, and think they know everything. Also, we don't spend enough money at the ballpark, at least according to them. I'm smart enough to know not to throw good money after bad! This organization showed us all how much respect they have for old folks when they let Kevin Gryboski stay for even one moment longer. JUST WIN, BABY!!
As for Mr. Williams and Steve? No comment!

Looks like he has molded a lot of them to be just like he is. If not, why don't they just refuse to play under his direction.
The fact they seem content to even be associated with this guy tells they are content with this scum bag. Shame on them and even more shame on the WT ownership. Dirt bags that they are.

Z is not a GM. He is an ASSISTANT GM. Big difference. A real GM actually has an important job to do. An assistant GM, not so much, just a figurehead that tries to look important when he isn't.

Few questions. Open book test for all the WT lemmings.
What has Kevin Bryboski done for the Wild Things other than to disgrace them even more then their owner?
Answer - Nothing
What did Old Man Bart Zeller do for the Wild Things?
Answer. Just build them the best team they have ever had.
What have the players done to support Mr. Zeller?
Answer. Turned their back on him.
Oh, yea, CJ's good with it so I suppose that makes it right.
Pathetic. just pathetic.

First, best of everything to Stewart Ijames. I hope he doesn't forget his roots and, more importantly, Bart Zeller. Without Bart who knows if Ijames would have made it to affiliated ball.
I would have thought the first order of business for Williams would be to fire Gryboski when the team returned from this road trip. It would have been the right thing to do. This man is a poor example of a leader and has no place coaching a group of unseasoned baseball players.
But, as just about everybody knows, Williams is an attorney and therefor has interest in doing what is right. His only concern is having a winning team no matter the cost to the character of his young players. Just as in a courtroom, the only important thing is not losing no matter how stupid it makes you look. Well, Mr. Williams you're looking really stupid these days. We can only hope that no one of Bart Zeller's talents ever manages for the WT again. If they do, they better damn well be prepared for a big knife in the back.

You ppl just assume Bart put this team together. Maybe there is a reason ppl turned their backs on him..

If you don't know then don't talk about it. Bart did NOT build this current team. He only brought 4 or 5 players to the team and thats it. Also, if you don't know the entire truth about the "Bart Zeller" resigning I think you should stop because if you knew you wouldn't defend Bart Zeller as much as you do hahaha

Hello Jeff! So, now your saying Bart didn't leave for health reasons? Nice. Bart got Ijames drafted and everyone knows that, go raise your parking prices or something productive. Watch the things go from 1st to 3rd within the next 5 days.

"my parking prices"??? -
I have no clue as to who you think I may be, but I can assure you that you are way off target. I pay for my parking just like everyone else who comes to watch a ballgame. I do thank you for these brief moments of comic relief.
