Why stop at Bridgeport?

Last week, Wild Things ownership announced plans to put a Frontier League team in Bridgeport, W.Va. Today, the News and Sentinel reported that local officials from Parkersburg, W.Va., will meet with Wild Things officials about establishing a team and ballpark in that city.

According to the report, Parkersburg mayor Bob Newell is putting together a delegation that will be in Washington next week.

"They are excited. Very excited with the possibility of a team being in Parkersburg," Newell said of the Frontier League. "When (the league) expanded they need to do two teams and Parkersburg is a choice for one of them."

Wild Things owner Stu Williams confirmed that his group is interested in a Parkersburg team.

"Is there interest on our part? Yes," Williams told the newspaper. "There is serious interest. Is there a path forward? Yes."

Now it seems Stu Williams is the villain. Yes, I have criticized him, as well as all the others in the old ownership group. They just sat around and let the team go to crap. At least Mr. Williams is doing all he can to save baseball here in Washington. Calling him “greedy” and other name-calling does not gain anybody much of anything.
It’s not really important how much money a person has. However, what IS important is how they got the money. I just seems to me Mr. Williams has earned his wealth through hard work. If some one has a beef about funds allegedly owed to them, why not press the issue through some legal means? We are talking about an entirely different issue here.
I must say that Mr. Williams has taken complaints much more seriously than ever before. He is addressing them very aggressively which is one of the reasons for the season ticket holders group. I think a lot of the complaints voiced in the past were being hidden from him.
Let’s give it a chance to work. Forget personalities.

Is one team ownership allowed to own multiple teams?
It sounds like a way to stock one team with good players via trades etc.
Chris how many teams can one ownership group own within the Frontier League?
Which one would be the primary team?
Washington or Bridgeport?

I believe multiple teams can be owned by the same people. At one time (not sure if this true today) Gateway and River City had some of the same owners. It's not unusual in independent ball. For example, Opening Day Partners owns four franchises, including the ones in York and Lancaster, in the Atlantic League. In the old Golden League, the business moldel was for the league to own all franchises. Not sure how it works in affiliated ball.

I just have to snicker when I see a guy complain about some one else’s views. All this guy does is complain that Ima Fraid actually has a point of view and actually is able to express it clearly.
This person does not even have the ability to put a coherent sentence together. All his small mind can do is call people names.
Why is this sort of comment even allowed because it is very much off topic, and filled with hate?

I'll bet my next paycheck (if I don't get laid off) that a young guy named Bando will find a roster spot waiting for him. Any takers?

Why doesn’t Williams just buy the whole frontier league? Then he will be sure to win a championship.
At the same time, maybe he can buy all the lottery tickets too. The one that says something smells – is right

Something really, really stinks here.
Maybe Tim Consolobay can help, you think? Just think about paxpayer turf for these new teams. All Timmy has to do is call his cronies in WV and and get the cost transfered to the taxpayers then. Let's see how happy the 'ears' will be with that.

Like what for example? Riots? Protests? Everybody wanting their piece of the turf they unwillingly paid for?
If you are going to made a statement like that please be a little more specific, or some one might consider it a threat.
Beside they won't move the WT, they will simply fold. Won't be the first time in FL history - won't be the last, either.

Has the ball park been assessed after the purchase by the Williams group.
We taxpayers of Washington County deserve the revenue as quickly as possible.
Perhaps our politicials can expedite this.

Now I dont mean comment 12 as a threat. What I try to explain is that if they move the team or in your case fold it there will be some angry fans in washigton pa. I have friends in bridgeville pa who are true die hard fans of the wild things
