Sidick: One of 13 under 30

Wild Things outfielder Chris Sidick has been chosen by Whirl Magazine for its feature "13 under 30." The magazine features 13 "men and women, all under 30 years old, who are leading the way in their respective careers and community efforts in and around Western Pennsylvania."

A magazine should do a story on the Wild Things season ticket holders. It would be called 70 over 70.

------------------------------------

Before anybody can write anything about season ticket holders (no matter their age), the Wild Things are going to have to figure out just what a ‘season ticker holder’ is.
Right now they call partial season ticket holders “season ticket holders” How silly is that? By definition, a “season ticket holder” is any person that has purchased a ticket for ALL home games – not somebody that has purchased tickets for fewer games than that!
These partial season ticket holders concerns are given equal consideration as a full season ticket holder gets! What a crock of crap that is… If these folks want it all their way, then let them buy a full season ticket. Most complaints I hear at the monthly Season Ticket Holders Advisory meetings are from these pretend season ticket holders!
It's past time for the Wild Things to get real and stop treating partial season ticket holders as anything other than - partial season ticket holders!
If I board an airplane and pay for first class seats, I expect to be treated accordingly. If a buy a coach seat, I don’t, and shouldn’t, expect the same amenities. Perhaps not a good analogy but nevertheless , close enough.

Come on Chris, when are you going to stop printing every tirade from the obviously self-absorbed Ima Fraid (aka Ron Wilson)? I honestly don't think there is a person on this earth that could ever appease the man. He complains/condemns every possible aspect of the Wildthings. If need be, he will manufacture something to rant about, now it is the definition of a season ticket holder (give me a break)! His only problem is that he feels only his opinions are valid and worthy of implementing. He has retired form the blog more times than Brett Favre, but as soon as the blog gets interesting and baseball is the main topic and not him, he pops back up to spread his spew and self-righteous detritus. I doubt if this gets printed because only RW can assail individuals or organizations and get away with it. He simply says, "I was just kidding" and all is forgiven, right Ronnie!

Ima Fraid. Sorry I have to disagree with you. My wife and I are partial season ticket holders
(26 games), moving from a 13 game package last year. Honestly, a lot of people who work can't make every single game, so some opt for the weekends (like we did). I don't care about the season ticket holders advisory board, nor do I care about equal consideration. You guys can keep your board, and your percs for being a full season ticket holder. All I want is the same seats to the games we choose, nothing more, nothing less. I have been attending the Wild Things games since the first one way back when, either as a seasonal employee, or now a paying customer. I also pay for every seat, and don't buy general admission tickets and sit in the box seats. So maybe rethink you thoughts, and I suspect the Wild Things owners are just as glad to have my business as well as yours.

Signed:

Just a partial season ticket holder.

Ronnie is right on this one. That very subject was brought up by the team owner at one of the meetings.
Some of you haters cannot see past the end of your nose.

‘Just a partial season ticket holder’. First, nobody is “just” an anything. All humans deserve respect. A man is not “just” a laborer, he is a human with feelings and needs the same as anyone else!

Let me clarify what I was referring to. I was conveying what I see happening at the advisory group meetings.
Most of the complaints are from this group of people that do not attend all the games but do attend the meetings. However, that want changes that would affect what happens at every game whether they are there, or not. Full season ticket holders have to accept these changes every game. I have NO problem with partial season ticket holders – I plan to become one after the end of the 2013 season. When that happens, I also will expect that my ticket will not entitle my concerns to carry as much weight as a full season ticket holders concerns. Seems only right to me.
The issue is NOT a new one and I only made a comment because somebody said something about how an article should be written about season ticket holders. So, Wild Things troll – shoot you venom – I don’t much give a ****!

If the WT have been doing such a great job why are they on the ropes (they won’t admit it, but they are)?

Why have they not produced a winning team on the field?

Why are so many people upset with them that they had to enlist the help of season ticket holders to make suggestions on how to improve things at CEP? I thought things were just great, at lest to hear them tell it.

Why did last seasons attendance drop so dramatically?

Why did we see games where the employees out numbered the paying fans?

Why did it take them so long to finally realize that there was a problem?

Why has the number of season ticket holders dropped so much?

Why are so many of the WT employees so afraid of being fired (believe it, they scared out of their minds)?

If they are not in serious trouble then why is the team’s owner taking such a hands-on approach (usually not a good idea)?

You forgot one, Why are Wild Things fans cranky old trailer trash?

The trailer trash want cheap baseball and they get that at a WT game. Cheap stuff isn't good and good stuff isn't cheap. The WT are a GREAT example of that principle.

The quality of baseball has eroded all the way from the majors to the Frontier League.
However, all us "trailor trash" still pay to attend games and support the errosion.
