Catcher sold to Rays

There were two roster moves Friday in the Frontier League and each had at least some connection to the Wild Things.

Washington catcher Adrian Bravo-Carmona had his contract purchased by the Tampa Bay Rays. Bravo-Carmona was signed a few months ago out of Mid-American Christian University in Oklahoma, an NAIA school. The move leaves Washington with three catchers on the roster and none with any significant pro experience. You have to think the Wild Things will sign a catcher with at least Class A experience or 300 at-bats in independent ball before the season begins next month.

The other move was a trade between the Lake Erie Crushers and Abilene of the North American League. You might recall that in February the Wild Things shipped relief pitcher Mickey Jannis to Abilene in exchange for catcher Michael Surina. Jannis was the most experienced player the Wild Things signed during the offseason, having reached high-Class A in the Rays' system.

Now, Jannis is back in the Frontier League and playing for Lake Erie. The Crushers acquired Jannis in a trade with Abilene, but Lake Erie gave up a lot, dealing starting pitcher Thomas Campbell. Campbell was one of the top true rookie pitchers in the Frontier League last year. He was 3-1 with a 2.75 ERA in 10 starts.

Holy Moses. This Wild Thing merry go round is getting so darn ridiculous that it’s almost impossible to keep up with. Wild Bill must be pulling his hair out just trying to study this stuff all day. I’m already sick of all this BS. Every time you turn around, some other development comes up. Why don’t the Wild Things just keep their mouths shut until they finally have a damn roster set? It’s beyond sickening now. Just one thing after another. I have to go some where and puke now.

After doing some extensive reading of this website one can come to several conclusions:

#1 the people who comment here know absolutely nothing about baseball

#2 the people who comment here are bitter about just about everything in their lives including this baseball team. Perhaps the root of their unhappiness is they didn't receive one of the free mascot signed pictures or drink cups given away before a game. Or maybe everyone who has to live in Washington Pennsylvania is just bitter because they have to live in Washington Pennsylvania

#3 the people who comment here know nothing about running a baseball team. If they did they would own one

#4 the people who have commented before me need to get a life. They seem to be sad pathetic individuals

#5 any baseball player who reads this website to learn something about the Washington Wild Things must be saying to himself "I'd rather play for Team Hell than play in Washington."

Re item #5 Good, let them play somewhere else if they could even be signed by Team Hell.
So, what's your point?

Hey Mr. Wild Things apologist.
I suppose you think the owners know how to run a baseball team. They have managed to show us just the opposite. In 10 years NO championship, charge the fans more and more for less and less. They know so much that they have gone from sell out after sell out to their present situation of a darn near empty ballpark.
They have managed to go from having a fairly happy fan base to having more pissed off fans than happy ones. There is a lot more they have done wrong but why bother to point them out?. For people that know so much, they sure are dumb.
Keep on apologizing for them – they just may pat you on top of you noggin’ and tell you how nice you are!
Pull you head out of the sand and breath some fresh air.

OT: Has anybody checked out the new menu on the Wild Things web page?
Some really yummy sounding things on it. I’m heading for the ice cream place for a
banana split on opening day! What’s another 10 pounds now???

Chris Bando is smart. He is in California this week enjoying good weather while we are going through "stinkin" weather.
Don't condemn him until he has one loss with Things.

Answer: Roster, not roaster, moves wil be about 65 to 70. They don't have a clue and the Bando is still to make an appearance here. Can't manage by telephone forever Chris!!
What a way to run a railroad.

Here’s the way it goes.
First, the WT sign a ball player
Second, they tell us how good this guy is.
Third, they tell us there is no one that can play his position better than this kid.
Fourth, they tell us about his lightning bat speed.
Fifth, he is a wonderfu human being and will be a great help in promoting the team.
Sixth, he may be the most talented player ever signed by the WT.
Seventh, they trade him.
We should have faith in these guys?
NOT

Natural Grass, don't you think it looks a bit odd that, at least publicly, Mr. Bando shows almost zero interest? Tired of hearing about him, want to actually see his fanny here in town. He’s already a loser just by his actions.

Just wait until Bando gets here and sees all the hayseeds with straw hanging from their buck teeth, if they even have teeth. Also, the big beer bellies, and I’m just talking about the women. Chris will sure like then because they don’t know a baseball from a medicine ball.

One time driving on W. Chestnut St. should tell him all he needs to know about Washington.
His car will be damaged by all the potholes and his neck will be sore from whiplash. That, and the 500 fans at the game just says it all.

If being in Washington in March and April was important at all Mark Mason would have been the Wild Things best manager. I don't remember anybody complaining about Isom or Massrelli not being in Washington until they had to be.
