A new pitcher?

Found this on the American Association website:

Tuesday, July 5 - The Wichita Wingnuts trade RHP Mike Cotter to Washington (Frontier League) in exchange for future considerations.

The trade hasn't been listed on the Frontier League site, and Cotter isn't listed on the Wild Things' roster. I didn't listen to all of the game Tuesday night, so I didn't hear if Randy Gore mentioned this transaction.

Cotter was a rookie for Wichita, signing last month after his senior season at Emporia State in Kansas. With Wichita, Cotter pitched in seven games out of the bullpen and had a 5.19 ERA. Wichita, by the way, is the same team the Wild Things' Gary Lee played for earlier this year.

At Emporia State, Cotter had one of the strangest statistical seasons I've seen in quite some time. This year, the 6-6, 215-pound Cotter pitched in 18 games. He had a 1-0 record and saved 14 of those games. But his ERA was 6.43 and opponents batted .341 against him.

It's almost impossible to save 14 games and not lose one with a 6.43 ERA.

that's what happens when:

13 saves in first 14 outings (2 er in 16.1 innings, 14 h, 3 w)

in last 4 appearances (13 er in 4.2 innings, 17 h, 9 w)

the real question is, after april 22: who are you and what happened to the other michael cotter?

Cut Blake Ochoa also.
He can't even bat Ernie Banks weight.

Yes, they are in last place in the East. However, two teams in the West, Gateway and Evansville have worse records.
Even more amazing, River City who has by far the best record in the league is in last place in attendence.
I wonder what is more important?
Winning or marketing?
The first 5 or 6 years, The Wild Things did both.
Now, they can't do either.

“The Wildthings are in last place. Bahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha”

Was that supposed to be funny? Even though this team seems like the Keystone Kops we really deserve better than this. The Wild Things fans, especially the longtime season ticket holders, have been very patient in waiting for some small improvement. Over the last few years things have gone downhill at a rapid pace. It’s almost like a virus has infected the entire organization. Everything from ticket sales, concessions, the attitude of employees and yes, even general clean up has just gotten worse, and worse. Three times during the last home stand, I saw trashcans over flowing before the game even started. How unsightly and unsanitary a mess for fans to see upon entering the ballpark!
Who, if anybody, is running this place? There seems to be no one that knows how to evaluate baseball talent and blend it into a cohesive team. Also, there seems to be no one that can coordinate the various other activities that a ‘professional’ baseball organization should do on a routine basis. The Wild Things may be the only team in the Frontier League with more employees than fans! God help me for saying this but; we could use Ross Vecchio again!
Come on Frantic Frani, and stewing Stu Williams get your damn act together. Spend a little less time counting your ‘beans’ and get things squared away! WAIT! On second thought – Frani has already shown us she can’t handle the job!
The Washington Wild Things – Taking the “Professional” out of professional baseball!

If you are dumb enough to but a season ticket, you deserve what you got!
All you have to do is but a general admission ticket and then sit anywhere you want.
It’s your money waste it anyway you want.

Since last night’s game was cancelled, not postponed, that’s about the same as another loss for the wt.
Any idea what time the team arrived back here from o’fallon, mo? I wonder is the game tonight will be played or if they will call it and play two on Saturday to give our heroes a little more rest.

So Ernie Banks survives another roster change. Now I know there is something rotten in Mr. Smiley’s
roster. There is no reason for Banks to continue to take up space in the WT dugout. Something smells here.

whatever he did with him, he's still missing...this cotter just gave up three walks, three hits, three runs and didn't get an out...
