I am the one that posted an alleged, I guess because it was deleted, comment using the correct medical words for certain bodily functions. It is a sad note when I make my first post ever on this blog and somebody finds it offensive to use medical terminology. What is the matter with you? These terms are used everyday by respected physician’s. These words can be found on just about any medical Internet site. You must be either sick, or just plain stressed out. You could just try some relaxation exercises, that might help.

Anyway, I sure enjoyed last nights game. The very instant I saw Stevens swing the bat I knew it was leaving the park. If only that message board had not stopped the ball, it might still be rolling. After the next game we will be back to .500 again.

Lowly offence medical tech.

What is the matter with me? Let's review:

I write a blog post about Justin Hall and some other notes, then you write a comment about animal defecation and urination.

And you ask what is the matter with me?

I got one of my biggest laughs of the season Wednesday night when during the radio broadcast, Bob Gregg, one of the BIG proponents for the new playing surface said; “The ball gets down in the outfield grass”. ah………….What grass, Bob? I thought I thought it was called…..blank blank! We all wish it was grass, apparently, including Bob.

Not only are you just exactly what I said. Plus you are so upset that you use your small children as examples of what you think is proper behavior, brilliant!! Great parenting.

Radio Randy almost has a heart attack as he squeals about how the WT get as lucky as is possible.
No need to get too excited about this team being good – they simple are not.
It’s better to be lucky than good though.

Chris, what is your take on the performance of Blake Ochoa and Ernie Banks for far this season?
I am not a big fan of Banks for many reasons. To me he is a definite threat on offence but he will never even come close to making the ‘show’. So far this year he has not produced enough to earn the starting job at first base. I would like to see Stevens get more playing time. He loves to play baseball, and it shows. Ernie, not so much.
Ochoa is off to a poor start considering the hype he was given. At least so far, I don’t see him as much more than an average catcher. He may improve as the season progresses, I hope so. The problem with players getting off to a poor start, especially in a short season league as the Frontier League, is that it so very difficult catch up once you’ve fallen behind.
Anybody else have a comment about this?

Another bad sign for the Wild Things?
There has not been much said about the apparent lack of interest by many of the local businesses the used
to sponsor such things as free t-shirts, bobble-heads, pill dispenser, on and on. You could not walk through the gate without somebody handing you a freebee of some sort.
Not that it matters to me, I’ve got enough junk already. It seems to reflect a declining value of the effectiveness of advertising by sponsoring a promotion at CEP. If I am not mistaken, the Washington Auto Mall no longer sponsors the fireworks shows. Who will EVER forget the Bud Baer fiasco of the opening season? Now the same exact thing is happening with Sharps Furniture. At the end of the season you will have a ‘chance’ to win a low bucks recliner – maybe! Don’t count on it.
Less advertising means less income, less income means higher concession prices, higher ticket prices, etc.
A couple of bright spots are, if the Wild Things start to lose too much revenue, there is always a possibility
that the local lawmakers will find some way to get US to make up the difference. The other bright spot is, their new MC at the park is much better than the dud they had last year.

Banks has been disappointing to say the least. He doesn't have the same bat speed he showed in 2009, when he was here the first time. I do think he's the best defensive player of the three who have been at first base. He's better at digging the ball out of the dirt than the other guys. As for Ochoa, I don't know what you mean by "hype he was given." What I see in Ochoa is an exceptional defensive catcher in the Randy McGarvey and Shaun Argento mold. Ochoa has prevented a lot of wild pitches. For a reminder of how important that is, think back to the bottom of the ninth inning last night. That pitch would not have gotten past Ochoa. That Washington has the fewest stolen base attempts against also shows Ochoa's value. I don't think he'll hit for a high average, but as long as he plays solid defense I don't care what batting average my catcher has.

Perhaps hype wasn't the correct word. I was led to beleive that Ochoa was better than he has shown so far.I agree about his defence, but I still think that for a gut that has played in AA affiliated ball be should be a better hitter. If you can't hit Frontier Leage pitching - you can't hit!
Perhaps that's the reason he is no longer in affiliated ball.
I'm not critizing Blake, that's just my opinion.
Thanks for you feedback.

I agree, Chris. I don't think Ochoa should be hitting fourth or fifth or wherever he has been in the lineup the last few nights though. It was nice to see Banda get a night off, hopefully he can straighten things out at the plate. This team is very similar to the Pirates right now, excellent starting pitching, above-average bullpen, mediocre hitting. If they can get it together, they will be able to make a serious run this summer.

I think Banda is in real trouble in his career. He's not hitting at all in a hitting league. He's been around a while, and a bunch of kids are going to be looking for work any day now. Get your Banda pictures now before he has the "Get on with your life's work" chat with Everson.

Chris I had to laugh when you said Ernie Banks is better at digging he ball out of the dirt.
How many road games have you attended this year.
Remember no dirt in Washington, only TPT.
