D'Alessandro to Lancaster

Joe D'Alessandro, who pitched in 20 games (3-2, 2.52, 4 saves) last year for the Wild Things will attend spring training with Lancaster of the independent Atlantic League. He is one of four "non-roster" players with the Barnstormers. Among the others is former Wild Things pitcher Tom Cochran, who had a brief stint in the Cincinnati Reds' minro-league camp this spring.

D'Alessandro has a standing offer to return to the Wild Things this year but had been working the Atlantic League tryout circuit.

There's still a good chance D'Alessandro could end up back in Washington. The Atlantic League is loaded with former major leaguers, and Triple-A and Double-A guys. D'Alessandro has pitched only 55 innings the last three years and none above the low-Class A level, so the odds are stacked against him making the Barnstormers' opening day roster.

Whatever happened to all those guys who were "unjustly released" by Jelks last year and supposedly had deals worked out to sign with Massarelli's team this year? Haven't seen any former Wild Things sign with Massarelli.

Hopefully Jamal can work out a deal with John Massarelli. Surely Massarelli has a position open for a overage batBOY.

REAL CLASSY Kids! If you ever looked into the stands, or even on this blog, there are plenty of poor, uneducated fans who cannot afford to buy season tickets, no matter their color!

Well, Jamal might be full of himself about the WT BUT he has it just about right about what will happen to white people. Perhaps it won’t happen in the immediate future, but it WILL happen in tiny little steps.
Then there won’t be a WT or a Frontier League for us to kick around on this blog.
The tougher times become, the fewer people will spend on such things as a baseball game. I think we should all enjoy what is offered while it is still here.
I think the WT will improve this year under Mason by at least 8 to10 games. Perhaps the attendance will improve also.
As for Ross and Chris, they are as good as gone with this Franni woman in charge!

BTW: What is the name of the accountant that “disappeared?
