Bando in World Series

Former Wild Things manager Chris Bando will be participating in a World Series this weekend.

As head coach of San Diego Christian College, Bando has guided the Hawks to a 42-18 record and the school's first berth in the NAIA World Series, which begins Friday in Lewiston, Idaho. SDCC's season has been quite remarkable because the Hawks are only three years removed from an 8-40 campaign. The Hawks will play Cumberland (Tenn.) in the first round of the 10-team double-elimination tournament.

LOL.

Bando couldn't win a world series of Hungry, Hungry, Hippos.

I went to the Wild Things home opener tonight thanks to the tickets won on O-R plus.
To answer a previous question in the blog, parking is still $5.
My wife and I spent $17 tonight including parking and free tickets. Food was fair, over priced and it looked like opening night for the food service staff. Very courtious, but untrained.
The little drummer boy played and a little girl sang the Star Spangled Banner. Unfortunately the P. A. system was blairing and you could not hear until the last 15 seconds.
On the postive side, the Wild Things won.
The park looked less than half full (probably 1200) which may have been the lowest attended home opener.
I noticed in the program that Frannie is listed as the owner, several William ladies are department managers, and no mention of Stu.
Go Rebellion
PS-the turf is starting to show wear!

The Frontier League website reported over 2,100 attended the Wild Things home opener. Do you think someone bumped up the numbers?

Not the smallest crowd for a home opener. That was in 2012. About 150 fewer.

Nobody bumped up the numbers. Probably just season ticket no-shows.
