Isom back in Frontier League
Former Wild Things and Traverse City manager Jeff Isom is back in the Frontier League. Isom was hired Wednesday as manager of the Lake Erie Crushers, succeeding John Massarelli.
Isom was the Wild Things' original manager. He was retained after the team was purchased and moved from Canton, Ohio, to Washington and spent the 2002 and '03 seasons with the Wild Things. Washington won one East Division title under Isom and made the playoffs in each of his two seasons.
Isom left Washington for Joliet of the Northern League in 2004, then returned to the Frontier League as Traverse City's manager in 2006. Then Isom went to the Milwaukee Brewers' system for six years. He managed several teams, including Brevard County in the high-Class A Florida State League and the West Virginia Power in the Class A South Atlantic League.
When Isom left Washington, he was replaced by Massarelli. Now, the roles are reversed.
"Isom will be a great addition to the Crushers organization, both on the field and in the community," said Crushers managing partner Steven Edelson.

Hey everybody get a load of this crap. John Massarelli and Jeff Isom two proven guys avaliable. Both could produce winners. And so what does good ol Stu do? He sticks with CHRIS BANDO!!!! What the hell is wrong with this guy? Why can't this moron see good coaching talent when there is some?
Chris I wanna ask you a question. Who would you rather have as manager? Jeff Isom or John Massarelli?
I think Isom is better at acquiring talent. He seems to have more connections, especially in the major college ranks. Massarelli was better at developing talent and improving a player's skills. As a reporter, there's no doubt I'd rather have Isom. They're both good managers. In this league, the two had something like 12 full seasons as a manager and never had a losing season.
I am not surprised that Dale would choose Isom. As I recall, Massarelli was the leader of "O-R" gate after the Things lost their season ending last playoff game the Things were ever in.
I also agree with Dale. I would choose Isom.
How dare you call Stu Williams a moron! I know a lot of morons that are insulted by that remark.
None of these morons would be so dumb as to keep the San Diego import and pass on Isom or Massarelli. Brilliant move Stu and Steve.
How can we really believe the Wild Cubs are actually trying to turn things around? Truth is that they are just setting the stage for leaving Washington. Of course, they will blame the fans for lack of support.
Who is Dale?
Under the current management in Washington, I doubt if either of these winning managers would come back to the Wild Cubs.
If this blog is any indication of fan support' then I would definitely set the stage to leave. Washington does not deserve to have a team. Nothing will ever please you people.
I've heard rumors about the Wild Things relocating to Bridgeport, WV...
I agree that Washington does not deserve a team. Worst fans and people in America are from Washington. To prove my point I offer this.......Jerry Sandusky is from Washington.
Perhaps the reason John Massarelli and Jeff Isom have not been contacted about the job is that neither man wants to be here.
I don't much care who manages the the Wild Cubs in 2013. It's way past time for Stu and Steve to either put or shut up! If 2013 is another year of what we've put up with the last two seasons, I will simply no longer support the team and spend my entertainment money elsewhere.
2013 better be a year of better players... Idc who the manager is as long as the talent is there
Only an idiot would manage the Wild Things. Who would want to live in Washington and have no fans except for the ones who show up only to hope you lose so they can complain about you on a blog the next day? Those two things should have the quality managers lineing up huh?
Do you people really believe that the Wild Things read this blog? If they do, do you think they take the idiotic rumblings of a half dozen malcontents with anything more than a grain of salt?
Yes they do read this blog. They enjoy a good laugh every morning. As far that goes I enjoy a good laugh also.
If you really want a goog laugh just watch this talented team try to throw a runner out at the plate with other runners on base. It is side splitting event to witness.

what you just said is the most insanely idiotic thing I have ever heard. At no point in you incoherent rambling response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. We are all now dumber for having had listened to it. I award you no points and may God have mercy on your soul!!
