It's about time

The home run hit Wednesday night by Washington's Mike Bando (pictured) at Normal was notable not only because it was the first of Bando's pro career, but it also ended a lengthy home-run drought.

Bando's home run was only the second hit by a Washington first baseman this season, and the first since Trevor Pippin hit a solo homer in the 10th inning to beat Evansville May 20 -- the third game of the season. That means the Wild Things went 70 consecutive games without getting a home run from somebody playing first base, which is supposed to be a power position.

Poor butons bando hey got a question. When can we go back to a simpler time you know when Stu Williams didnt own this team and John Masserelli was manager?

Buttons has plenty of power. His Dad is the manager. Any questions?

It probably has to do with Bando being the primary first baseman.

I was happy to see Mr. Massarelli the other night when Florence was in town. It was like seeing your happy ex-girlfriend with her new boyfriend....only in minor league baseball form.

Chris, this post feels like you're throwing a cigarette butt out the window out west during wildfire season. Bring on the Buttons-haters!!

Buttons is a good glove man. He really does need some hitting instruction.
You would think that with his Dad's connections that he could find him a decent coach.
I think he deserves at least another season with the Wild Cubs.

I believe Stu was the money man behind the Wild Cubs all of their years. It is only after ridding John Switek as managing partner we hear of him.
Am I right Chris?

Why did Garvey leave the team? I heard that they wanted to trade him to the RW and he just hung it up.

To make a long story short, I was told that Garvey was going to be traded to the Road Warriors in exchange for Aaron Glaum, but he told Chris Bando that he would not play for the RWs, then stormed off and left town.

A parody of the theme from "The Beverly Hillbillies"....

Come and listen to a story about a man named Stu.
His franchise thrived, as attendance grew.
When times got tough, Stu vowed to turn it all around.
His moves backfired, the team's been run into the ground.
Basement that is...cellar dwellars, last place.

Well the next thing you know, Stu consulted TSE.
The fanbase pleaded "Stu, make the parking free!"
So their pleas and feedback all just went ignored.
Stu raised food and tickets, all across the board.
The Washington Wild Things!
(cue banjo solo)

Now it's time to say goodbye to Bando and his son.
He only hit one homer, and batted .191.
You're not invited back next year, don't bother phoning in.
Bring back John Masserelli, we want our Things to win!

Ban the Bandos!

Lol ..... Hilarious. Almost pissed myself I was laughing so hard.

There is no way Stu can justify keeping Bando as manager. He just did the impossible and lost two in a row to a road team. Even by road team standards that was a bad team that beat the Wild Cubs two in a row.

Ban the Bandos. Hire Jethro Bodine as manager .... it would be an upgrade.

There is ZERO chance of John Massarelli ever managing the Wild Things again. None. Get that out of your mind. It will never happen. Not in a million years. It's pure fiction. Better find some other manager to hope for.

The Wild Things suck ups won the day with their 'stay the course' agenda.
Stu and Steve went along with those that told them what they wanted to hear, naturally!
“There are non so blind as those who refuse to see”.
According to the suck ups all we needed to do was let the pieces of the “puzzle” fit into place and all would be well.
Really? How did that work for you, Wild Things?
One suck up actually said he saw a bunch of young players that “knew what they were doing”.
Really? Which one? He must have been watching some other team in some other league.
Do any of you think it will change next year? Will Stu and Steve continue along with their heads up
in the clouds? Has all the TSE baloney brought more people into the park? That’s almost too easy to answer. Will towel waving obnoxious women help the team or, just continue to annoy people? Must have been dropped on her head at birth! Who the hell ever heard of a cheerleader at a baseball game?
How about Chris (the invisible man) Bando? Is Stu actually going to allow this poor excuse for a manager to return? If Bando had so many ‘connections’ then why has he sunk to the level of being almost the worst manage in an Indy league? Will buttons be back next year.?
Sure a lot of unanswered questions. Guess we will have to wait until next year to find out.
After going 3 and 3 in a run of 6 games that they should have won at least 5 of them, it’s more than time for Stu and Steve to quit talking so much about how good things are going to be. Actions speaks louder than words. I think we’ve all heard enough now to recognize it’s all a bunch of hogwash.

Great post by Swisschedda. Probably one of the best this year, very clever.
I suppose we will get the second season of the Clampetts (Bandos) next year whether
we like it or not!

Chris Bando should not be allowed to get on the bus with the Wild Cubs today for the trip to wherever they are going. When you lose two out of three to the Road Warriors or Legion of Doom or whatever name they gave that ragtag bunch, you need to be fired. What happened the last two nights was rock bottom. Bando lost two in a row to a team that was slapped together in about 10 minutes. Bando should be fired and it should have happened at about 10:30 last night not after the season or in December.

FIRE THE BANDOS
BAN THE BANDOS
FIRE THE BANDOS
What a fraud the Bando Bunch is.
How much more is it going to take, Stu?
FIRE THE FRAUD - NOW! What's wrong with you, Stu? Don't have the guts?
Afraid to admit you were wrong about this joker?
Get rid of him now! What are you waiting for? Ten dollar parking maybe?
Bring back Mr. Smiley. At least we knew what he looked like.
Stu, you were properly had. All you have to do is admit it. Try being a man!
