Talkin' schedule, alignment
The Frontier League's 2012 is out, and it shows two news teams, two seven-team divisions, six teams switching divisions and some interesting road trips for the Wild Things.
The two new teams are Schaumburg (Ill.) and London (Ontario). Both ownership groups were approved in August, though London originally had plans to play in the Detroit area but was rebuffed by Clawson, Mich. Schaumburg will play in the West Division and London in the East.
Moving to the West Division will be Windy City, Rockford and defending league champion Joliet. Going from the West Division to the East will be Florence, Evansville and Southern Illinois. Florence and Evansville have previously been in the East. This will be the first time Southern Illinois won't be playing with the St. Louis-area teams.
The alignment is basically the Chicago and St. Louis teams in the West Division, and everybody else in the East.
The Wild Things open the season Friday, May 18 at Evansville. The home opener will be Tuesday, May 22 against Gateway.
Washington will play 42 games against teams from the West -- one home and one road series against each team. There will be an unbalanced schedule against East foes. The Wild Things will play four series each against Florence, Lake Erie and London. They will play only two series against Evansville, Southern Illinois and Traverse City.
One thing that has plagued the Wild Things during their current run of nonplayoff years is poor starts to the season. In 2012, the Wild Things will need to win a lot of games on the road to avoid another bad start. There is a stretch in June in which the Wild Things play nine consecutive road games, each against division opponents. Twelve of Washington's first 15 division games will be played away from Consol Energy Park.
The Wild Things also have a tough stretch that begins July 31 during which they make two trips to St. Louis. Each series in St. Louis is followed by a home game without a travel day in between.

Chris are there any hints as to who the new manager will be? Also, it looks like the Wild Things have either trimmed the front office staff, or have resigned. We are considering purchasing a partial season ticket plan, howvere, with the loss of staff, I am concerned. Your thoughts.
Not Chris but.. just about all the front office staff were fired. The way things are now is that if you please Mr. Williams, you stay - if you don't, your gone. The boss may not always be right but, he is always the boss.
It's about time somebody cracked down on all the dead weight in the WT front office. (They still have at least one more that needs to be given the boot).
While the rest of the teams are signing players and naming new managers the WT are still trying get things untangled from what went wrong the last few years. How could things have gone from being so good to so bad in such a short time? Darn good question.
Bet you one thing though, things will turn around very soon or even more heads will roll. Mr. Williams ain't about to take this sort of nonsense any longer. Good for him.
If I were in charge, the only one left standing would be Chris Blaine. All the rest could call Obama for one of those jobs he is going to create. LOL!

You're concerned? About what?
Also, manager will be named this week. Hint: He was mentioned recently on this blog.
Sorry Chris. Maybe I put my concern the wrong way. I have noticed the constatn turnover with the front office staff. I know the team will be there, and hopefully the Wildthings will once again become contenders. I guess my concern is with the past few years, and the lack of talent and the constant turnover of staff. Maybe the staff is fearful of there jobs if the team fails, and this would cause anyone to be stressed and wonder if there job is safe.
I was thinking that Jon Cahill would be the new manager.
Soooo....Terry Falcona is going to take the job after all!
The new manager must be either Dr. Dolittle, or Ron Wilson.
Since Dr. Dolittle is dead and I think Ron is still alive, he must be the one. Finally, a step forward. Good call Mr. Williams!
BTW Chris, how do you know this about who the new manager will be? I thought the much valued season ticket holders were to be the first to know. I'm beginning to see cracks in the veneer that Mr. Williams is standing behind. Come on Mr. Williams, be true to your word.
"HE" means that Chris Blaine has been eliminated. What kind of a sexist move is that? LOL! Maybe she just turned the job down. So, is Bando the choice? I still think Falcona should be the choice. He is reported to be suffering from depression so Washington would suit him just fine.

New Manager
"He was mentioned recently on this blog"
Darn-the he disqualifies Chris Blane.
I'm bummed out.
The female trainer needed company on the long bus trips and someone female to share a room on road trips.
You're concerned? About what? are you kidding
How about he is concerned that the Wild Things will treat him like a pile of …. once they get their hands on his money. One thing has been made perfectly clear by the powers that be is that there will no longer such a thing as getting your money back no matter how bad they treat you. What the Wild Things don’t know about how to treat customers is legend. If the owners knew what I know, the only person left in the front office would be Chris Blaine – PERIOD! The dynamic duo would be drop kicked to the Pacific Ocean. If the owners are wise they will keep a constant eye of that pair. They should have had their pink slips ages ago.
Also, maybe he is concerned that the Wild Things will just put on a dog and pony show about improving things and, as in the past, it will all be just a bunch of malarkey. I just can’t understand how anybody could think that, can you?
Just thinking out loud.
The above pretty much hits the nail on the head.
Seems as though the Wild Things have put themselves into a rather big hole. About 80% of the employees are just plain lazy and the rest are just plain arrogant.
I'm not in any hurry to return to the park until they earn my business.
That's a good match with the Wild Things' fanbase because it's 80 percent mentally deficient (probably because of western pa inbreeding) and the rest is just plain arrogant old farts who think they deserve free everything because they happen to be bitter, old and want everything for nothing.
Chris Bando the new manager. Did anyone see that coming?
Yes, we could see that coming. The cat was let out of the bag by CD some time ago.
