Broom service?
The Wild Things have a chance to sweep a series tonight -- on the road, no less -- when they play the Evansville Otters at Bosse Field.
Being the Frontier League team with the fewest road wins (12) this year, Washington getting a road sweep would be something that hasn't for this franchise a long time. Just how long? I had to search a while for that one.
The last three-game road sweep for the Wild Things came May 25-27 of last year, at Kalamazoo. Washington completed the sweep by winning the final game of the series 12-8 in 13 innings. If I recall correctly, Jacob Dempsey had home run in the 13th.

Remember the good old days when the Wild Things sweep 1 out of ever 3 o4 series until they got to the playoffs.
Yes, it used to happen.
Now they get sweep pretty often and don't have to worry about the playoffs.
Now it's time to get out the broom and clean out the Wild Things coaching staff.
snap---there went the broom handle, along with wild things' hold on a 3-0 lead....in the 8th inning, no less.
not a mathematician, or statistician, or any of those other kind of liars, but it seems to me that it the wild things had won half of the games they lead by 2 runs or more in the seventh inning, they'd actually be in the playoff picture at the moment, not simply looking at it.
What is the Wild Things magic number?
2012
Has he been fired yet?
Not yet. Nobody has the stones.
After tonights game we can sit his fanny on one of the fireworks devices and rocket his butt to the moon! ONE WAY!
The good and the bad about Friday’s game at CEP
It was good to see the place filled up again. It’s always more fun when the place is packed. Too bad the game was a ‘laugher’; a close game would have been more fun to watch. It was good to see the Wild Things go home with a win though.
REALLY bad was Eric Stephens’s lack of hustle in the bottom of the second inning when he dogged it down to first base on a ball he hit to left field. That sort of thing will keep a guy in the Frontier League, if not in some other bush league.
Bad. Everson’s tired old act of carping at the umpires. He was wolfing at the home plate umpire about a call that Everson was in no position to clearly see. Getting to be sort of old Darin.
There was a rumor; I have no idea if it is true, that the Wild Things handed out 250 free tickets for last night’s game. I heard a lot of complaining about it from the season ticket holders. There can be little doubt that the season ticket holders very often get the dirty end of the stick handed to them by the wild things. No wonder they are leaving in droves.
As far as the ‘freebies’ go – well, it the Wild Things option to do as they wish but….
Bad. The ultra-long lines at the concession stands. Will this problem ever be solved? I doubt it. As for me, I have already solved it; I stay in my seat and watch the game.
Good. One of the vendors actually gave away free boneless chicken after the game. It was really good stuff, too.

I am not a season ticket holder, but I feel full season ticket holders should get free parking, and when give a ways are done, they should get one automatially, not one of the first 1000 there which in all likelyhood, a fair percentage may only attend that or a few games.
I guess it would take a lot of stones on the part of management to do this.
Do you think it would be a good tool to recruit full season ticket holders?
Just a short observation of events at Saturday evening's Game. My wife and I decided to have "dinner" at CEP before the start of the game. We entered the park promptly at 5:30 when the gates opened. We prefer to use the first base grill for hot dogs and hanburgers, as I believe the hot dogs taste better grilled rather then what ever it is they do at the other consession areas, As we enetered the roped off areas, there were 3 guys working at the grill. We walked up to the front and the kid looked at us and said "we're not open yet". Much to my suprise, I said, "Your not open yet" and the guy behind the grill looked at me at shouted, "we're still cooking". At that time my wife and I looked at each other, at just shook our heads, and left. We went to the consession area behing section 104, and placed our order. needless to say, I was correct. The hot dogs were horrible, the napkin container was empty. You would think the staff would be prepared for hungry fans before the gates open but I guess they think otherwise.
We have been attending games at Falconi field, CEP for years, and usually don't eat there, and this episode today confirmed why. I can assure you that we will eat elsewhere prior to entering the ballpark.
(I plan to email the person in charge of food service at CEP and advise him of this very poor customer service and the terrible fod that we received.
For what it's worth, season ticket holders ARE guaranteed the "give away". They can just go to the concierge desk to get it, if they don't get one at the gate.
"I am not a season ticket holder, but I feel full season ticket holders should get free parking, and when give a ways are done, they should get one automatially, not one of the first 1000"
Season ticket holders do automatially get the freebes. However, I personally witnessed a fan that attends perhaps 3 to 4 games a year scams the WT for at least 8 t-shirts last night. He went around and got some willing season holders to give him their ticket stubs. Then he went to customer service and presented these ticket stubs and got the shirts. Since the Wild Things do not punch the ticket stubs when they are orignallyHe gave about half the shirts to the people that 'shared' their stubs with him. He kept the rest for himself
Just in case there is any question in your mind about the All-Star catcher Blake Ochoa’s inability to play this game, Saturday night’s game should prove beyond any doubt that he can’t. I can’t understand how this guy ever wore a AAA team’s uniform even for a minute. Give me a break! He can’t even play in the Frontier League.

That will do you no good at all. They will give you some BS answer (the one they know you want to hear),
then it will go down the crapper just the same as any other complaint! You might as well be trying to communicate with a totem pole if you think that would do any good. Just about every sports team has it’s forgotten man, with the Wild Things it’s the customer. PERIOD. End of story…
Complaints at CEP are NOT graciously accepted! Always been that way at CEP – will never change.
You realize Morrow was catching the eighth inning during the wild pitch and passed ball, right? What exactly did Ochoa do wrong Saturday. besides get on base twice and do his job?
On stolen base in the 4th inning he threw the ball six feet in front of the base. Same inning throws ball down left field line. Where you even at the game?
Two walks is his job? Come on, his BA is about .201.
Why do you only hate on Ochoa? The whole team stinks not just him.
Why do you only hate on Ochoa?
Because he stinks more then the average Bad News Bear!
