It's been a long time

A few leftover statistics from the Wild Things' 1-0 victory, on the combined pitching of Billy Muldowney, Kevin Hammons and Eryk McConnell, Monday night over the Oakland County Cruisers:

* It was the first shutout by Washington pitching since a 5-0 victory over the Midwest Sliders in the second game of a doubleheader Aug. 15, 2008. Zach Groh was the Wild Things' pitcher in that seven-inning game.

* It was the first nine-inning shutout by Washington pitching since a 7-0 win over Midwest July 1, 2008.

* The last time a Washington pitcher threw a nine-inning complete-game shutout was June 18, 2007, when Aaron Ledbetter threw a two-hitter in a 3-0 victory at Evansville.

It's been a long time ……..since I first thought about it, so now I will ask a couple of what may be stupid
questions. I would like to know why the WT management sells, on a very consistent basis, general admission
tickets to so many people, THEN will allow then to sit in the empty box seats and reserved seat areas. How in the hell is that fair to the people that have paid the full price for their seats? It sure as hell isn’t fair to the season ticket holders that have pre-paid for the entire season. Why should these free loaders be allowed to sit ANYWHERE they damn well please? Nobody can tell me the WT don’t know this is happening. I resent paying for a reserved seat ticket then watch general admission cheapos go sit in a box seat. None of the ushers even bother to even challenge them. I know some of you will ask “why don’t you just do the same thing’? The answer is: because I am too damn honest to do such a thing.
Also, the WT pissed off a lot of people when they decided to cancel the Diamond Card Program. Many card holders used the cards as a sort of savings account to help buy their next years season tickets and was a real convenience for a lot of people. It worked well for the fans up until now. I just know the WT are going to claim it is some sort of an accounting problem for them –SO WHAT? Who cares about their freakin accounting problems? If they continue to screw with things that worked in the past there will be NO income at all for them to account for.
Wild Things, you are screwing with the dwindling number season ticket holders that you have. Why should they have to subsidize the cheap bastards that buy general admission and sit in empty box or reserved seat next to a person that paid the full freight for seating in the same area? To top it off, the ushers are complicit in this Bull S___! Damn it, either enforce the seating OR give a rebate to the season ticket holders. Bring back the Diamond Card that worked well for so many years. If you can’t work out the accounting, then you really need to get into some line of work.
When you go to a dance, you should dance will the one that brought you. Instead, you are dancing with the ones that cheating you, and your season ticket holders! Time to wise up.

Another question. Why did Alan Robbins suddenly decide to retire after Monday's night game?

Rumor. Because, along with many other players, he was sick of Everson.

Robbins retired because of an reoccurring injury, it had nothing to do with everson
