Washington's favorite umpire Mario Seneca, pictured, -- a former Frontier League umpire -- has been promoted to the Class AA Southern League this year. If my memoriry serves me correctly, Seneca called games in the Class A Florida State League last year.Seneca is one of two connections to Washington in the Southern League. Former Wild Things pitcher Tom Cochran plays for the Carolina Mudcats. Cochran has a 2-1 record and 2.72 ERA with five no-decisions in eight starts.
