Here are two stories about possible franchise additions to the Frontier League. The first, which is about a week old, is about a ballpark proposal that was to be part of an expansion of McHenry Community College in Illinois was rejected by the Crystal Lake planning commission. The college is hoping the Crystal Lake city council - the body with the final say on the issue - will ignore that recommendation and approve the ballpark.

Looks like another Frontier League is dong away with it's natural playing surface in favor of "crazy grass". Traverse City is now plowing up their stadium to take another backward step in baseball. This is so they can use the field for things like bull riding and all that other silly stuff that should be done in a barnyard!
Why are so many of these so -called multipurpose stadiums shaped like a baseball field?
I heard rumors of a Frontier League team or a minor league baseball team moving to Fairmont, West Virginia, has anybody heard any news or gossip about that?
Yes, Washington is moving to Fairmont. Apparently the newspaper reporters in Fairmont will only write favorable articles.
Fairmont has been on the Frontier League's radar since 2003. I haven't heard or asked anyone about Fairmont for several months, but the last word was a ballpark was still being planned for an area off I-79 that also will include homes and businesses. The example that was given to me was "something along the lines of Southpointe."
For about two years, I was told the holdup on the project was who would get credit for it - West Virginia Gov. Joe Manchin or the local politicians. The last time I asked about Fairmont, I was told the developers wanted the home phases of the plan to be built first instead of the ballpark.
It's a poorly kept secret that the Wild Things' ownership will have something to do with the ownership group of the Fairmont franchise.

The more a person takes a hard look at the Wild Things ownership group and the Frontier League, the more questions seem to arise.
